I had a small amount of guilt at first about the extra plastic always being thrown away. But I started using them with the breast pump adapter and storage kit to pump directly into the drop-ins. So I traded a drop-in for a plastic zip bag. I never touch, pour or handle the milk again. I know that each serving is clean and sanitary. I wash only the nipples by hand and the rest I rinse without much effort since it does not come into contact with my baby or the milk.
