I did a lot of research & after being unable to find & purchase the 1st generation Lasinoh breast pump (not the 2nd generation Affinity), I went for my 2nd option. The Ameda Purely Yours Breastpump is affordable, efficient, easy to use. It's a closed system which makes cleaning a breeze. It doesn't wake up my daughter when in use so I'd say it's fairly quiet & you can always wrap it in a towel which works great as a sound buffer. I take the time to prompt a letdown (by way of a 1 to 2 min(s)quick, short rhythm), & I can get 4 oz in 8 to 10 minutes. To be fair, I have to mention that when double pumping (unless you have the hands-free bra) you'll be quite busy holding bottles to your boobs. Also, the suction seems to weaken when the pump is used on both boobs simultaneously. I haven't tried the thermometer but it's nice to have a 2nd one to leave in the diaper bag. As for the diaper bag given, I use it as a carrying case for my pump & any other food-related essentials I may need.
